Hocus Pocus

Helen Black is a freelance illustrator based in the coastal city of Brighton, U.K., where she lives with her partner and their cat, Earl.

Originally from Lancashire, Helen grew up in a creative family and has always had a passion for drawing and art. Over the years, she has created work across a wide range of products—from party tableware and jigsaws to greeting cards. She blends painted, drawn, and digital techniques to bring her playful characters and bold florals to life, often in punchy, vibrant colours with her signature splash of hot pink.

Outside the studio, Helen enjoys swimming at her local lido, walking along the beach, and settling in with a spooky film—Halloween being her favourite season.
